Why hello, this is a critique for Feedback Frenzy so I hope you enjoy. Unfortunately for me I don't think I'll do well with scoring for this though because I really can't fault it :/
I love your use of the rule of thirds and how wonderful and crisp every single detail is in this composition. I LOVE the lighting and how even though it's darkest in the foreground the lighting here really creates a beautiful atmosphere ^-^ I love how simple the actual scene is and how magical it's become from the snow, especially with how the snow has clung to the top of the branches. The only thing I don't like is the out of focus branches in the bottom left corner of the photograph, perhaps using the clone tool to get rid of the branches ad then using the crop tool slightly along the bottom of the photograph would remedy this. Overall this is gorgeous though and I wish i were there to throw around all the snow and be a part of the scenery.
Hello Samu, this critique is part of ~Feedback-Frenzy and I hope it will be helpful to you.
From the very first second this image caught my eye. I like those blue tones and how the snowy lake is the only part with light but everything else is in shadows.
I also like the composition with using the trees as a natural frame. It’s like looking out at the world around you, while staying within some natural shelter.
However, I think it would look even better, if the angle of vision would be a tad different: cutting the lowest part, so the image would start at the bottom of the trees and show more of their crowns, while the lake shore would be moved more or less to the lower third of the image. Or have you ever tried to only crop the lower part and make a “panorama”?
I think the photo is nice how it is now, but that little plant in the foreground always distracts my eyes. In my opinion there’s nothing of interest in the foreground, so why show it? Concentrate on the really interesting parts of the landscape.
Nevertheless, I would love to jump right into that photo. It has such a lovely winter day mood.
There's so much I could say about this. It's so beautiful! I love the lighting and how the pure white draws attention to not only how perfectly straight and level the horizon line is, but it also made me notice the repetition of colours in the ground and sky; in the very bottom of the picture and in the sky, dark blue flows to purple which flows to a green. I find this to be really interesting. I also love how the trees on the sides create a pathway to lead me through the image and create depth. It also gives the impression of going from being closed off in the path between the trees to being somewhere completely open. The contrast in this is also really nice. The trees being silhouetted by the white is really a nice effect. I do notice however that the colours in the bottom get kind of grainy, especially in the green parts. Very beautiful work though
Hello! I am part of Team 27 in Feedback Frenzy! Absolutely am inspired by this capture. First of all the lighting is wonderful. The shadows in the foreground leading to the brightness of the center of the lake really draws your eyes into the picture. The colors work so well together too. Nature provides the colors, but the ability to capture them is special. You certainly did that here. The only thing that I would suggest would be to not have the trees in the bottom left hand corner of the capture. They pause the eye from moving to the center. I really enjoyed looking at this. I can imagine standing there and feeling chilly! Great work!
