I was quite impressed by your vision in this photo, and the title is quite apt... they do resemble some type of flying craft. The pods, for lack of better term, have an interesting color change from brown to white and are positioned on the stalks in a way not see with most "flower" photos. A much more unique subject than the typical blossom shot. (Vision 4.5, Originality 4.5)

I find the background color palette to be very soothing and cool compared with the much warmer brownish-orange to white of the pods. Something seemed a bit lackluster, however. Perhaps saturation was reduced? The background seems a bit dark... but this is likely a personal preference.

The one thing that did catch me is the one pod up front, out of focus. I love the bokeh of the photo, but, to me, it seemed like that one pod was kind of out of place.

I found the way the subject was centered in the photo (middle third or so) focuses the eyes to the shapes and helps give them that "flying" sense.

Overall, a highly impressive photo with a unique subject and wonderful colors! (Technique 4, Impact 4.5)

Bravo!

Why did I fav this? Well - I'm mostly either to speechless or to lazy to write comments - I think if I fav something I don't also need to write "OMG cool" because well - that I fav it already implies that I like it doesn't it? So why do I like this? I always have been an appreciator of macro images. I just love how small things and plants get a whole new perspective. The littel ones suddenly become big and impressive while actually being rather unconspicious and delicate. This is one of the shots that seriously underline that fact. These plants - only one small part of a huge area now come out to be a little world of their own. The title "organic spaceships" is well chosen for if you leave out the filigree stipes the buds/seed shells look like small flying objects in a veil of poison fog...

Yeah I did. About new perspectives. Many have mentioned this photo to be something different than other works under the same category. I never really thought that. So yes, I learned something new.

Sometimes things around us, in nature can be more "alien" than we can imagine:D. Ingenious title, indeed. Besides, I like the vivid, saturated colours and blurred background. Brown and turquoise is a quite interesting combination. Like it.:)

It's true that they look a bit like alien things. You've got an interesting way of seeing things. Plus, it's a great shot, I love that blue-ish shade of green.
